• Chengde Summer Palace
  • Chengde Summer Palace Resort is the largest existing imperial garden and also one of the top 10 scenic spots in China.

    Chengde Summer Palace, also called Hot River Palace is located in the north of Chengde city and is where emperors from China`s ancient Qing dynasty spent their summers to escape the summer heat in Beijing.

    The gardens are divided into three themed areas: a Lake District, a Plain District, and a Mountain District. The Lake District comprises of a number of small fishing villages that surround the areas lakes, while the Plain District is a replica of typical Mongolian grasslands. The Mountain District is characterized by dense forests. Within the Lake and Mountain districts are temples, pagodas and pavilions that are interspersed in a manner that harmonizes with the surrounding topography.


    Transportation
    Tourists can take bus No 5 or No 11 at the Chengde Railway Station to the Summer Resort and you just need to spend over 10 minutes.

    Admission fee
    The admission fee is usually RMB 50 and RMB 90 during the tourism period.
