    Pingyao Ancient Town -  Pingyao is an ancient city that was named a World Heritage Site in honor of its extraordinary city wall which dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.
    The Ancient City Wall -     Built with rammed earth inside and brick and stone outside, the ancient city walls measure 10 meters high and 6162.7 meters long with 3-5 meters wide tops.
    Rishengchang Exchange Shop     - founded in 1823 in the early years of Emperor Daoguangs reign (CE 1820-1850) during the Qing (CE 1644-1911) Dynasty, It consists of 21 different component structures surrounding a central courtyard. Rishengchang Draft Bank is famous because it is Chinas first bank.

    The Ming and qing Street - With a length of 440 meters, the street used to be the commercial center of Pingyao ancient city. The traditional and orderly-located shops of the Ming and Qing Dynasties are still well preserved. The cross-street Town House, is the highest building of the city (18.5 meters high). On its top, you can take a whole view of the Ming - Qing Street

    Jinci Temple - Lies in the Xuanweng foothill, which is 25 kilometers from the southwest of Taiyuan city, it is the temple of Jin Emperor in ancient times; it is initially built during the northern Wei Dynasty (386-535) for memorizing the second son Jiyu of Zhouwu Emperor. Jinci Temple is one of the national key cultural relic reserves, enjoys the reputation of "Little South of the Yangtze River".

    Qiao Familys Compound - Located 30 kilometers northwest of Pingyao, the Qiao family compound is famed for being the setting of the film, Raise the Red Lantern, starring Gong Li, was filmed. It has a pristine and imperialistic feel to the architecture here, and makes a great visit while you are passing through the ancient town.
