Its name means the place where the emperor crossed the river. Chengde, originally called Rehe was once the summer resort capital of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It holds rich culture related to this history as well as many historic relics dating as far back as the Neolithic Age in this city.

    Day 1 Arrive in Beijing

    Summer Palace - The Summer Palace, Yiheyuan in Chinese, is the most celebrated imperial garden in China. The garden came into existence early in the 1750s and had once been a summer resort for the emperors. It is acclaimed as a museum of gardens in China, for a visit to this garden bestow on sightseers a glimpse of representative scenes all over China.

    Temple of Heaven It was founded in the first half of the 15th century, is a dignified complex of fine cult buildings set in gardens and surrounded by historic pine woods. In its overall layout and that of its individual buildings, it symbolizes the relationship between earth and heaven – the human world and Gods world – which stands at the heart of Chinese cosmogony, and also the special role played by the emperors within that relationship.

    Day 2 Beijing  

    Sightseeing: the Badaling Great Wall, Ming Tombs, Sacred Way

    Badaling Great Wall - Badaling Great Wall was the best preserved part of the Ming Great Wall.

    Ming Tombs - Some 50 kilometers northwest of the capital, the Ming Tombs are generally combined with a visit to the Great Wall.Otherwise known as the "13 Tombs," this is the burial site of 13 out of 17 emperors of the Ming Dynasty.

    Sacred Way - The Sacred Way is part of the Ming Tombs complex. It is a long, straight path flanked by statues first of ancient government officials and then by animals. The Sacred Way ends at a pavilion sheltering a stone tablet.

     

    Day 3 Beijing

    Sightseeing: Forbidden City & Tian An Men Square, Hutong tour,  Wanfujing Walking Street & Dong Hua Meng night market.

    Forbidden City - The Forbidden City, also named Palace Museum, is the most magnificent and splendid palace complex in China

    Tian An Men Square - Tiananmen Square is the largest downtown square in the world. It covers an area of 44 hectares, big enough to hold one million people.

    Hutong - the word hutong means a small alleyway or lane. They are typical of the old part of Beijing and are formed by lines of siheyuan (a compound made up of rooms around a courtyard ) in which most Beijing residents used to live.

    Wanfujing Walking Street  - WangFuJing Walking Street,  located in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, is one of the Chinese capitals most famous shopping streets. 

    Dong Hua Meng night market - Dong Hua Men Night Market in Beijing is located at west of Wang Fu Jing Avenue in Beijing. The major activity of the market includes dining with a variety of food stall in innumerable numbers.

    Day 4 Beijing/Chengde by Overnight Trainchengde

    Sightseeing: Visit Summer Resort Palace at Chengde.

    Summer Resort Palace - Chengde Summer Resort, also called Chengde Out Palace or Rehe Xanadu, is situated north of Hebei Provinces Chengde downtown, 230 kilometers away from Beijing. First built in the 42nd year (1703) of Emperor Kangxis reign of the Qing Dynasty, the resort cost about 90 years to construct, covering 564 hectares. It is the largest imperial garden in China.

    Mountain Resort and its Outlying - The Mountain Resort in Chengde, one of the four most famous Chinese gardens and one of the largest and best-preserved imperial palaces outside Beijing, used to be a summer resort and hunting ground for emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). They also used the palace to organize martial art competitions and receive the elite of ethnic minority groups from around China.

    Food street - Located in the center of Nanshi, an old shopping area, you can taste dishes with flavors of Sichuan, Shandong, Guangdong, Hunan, and Jiangsu. You can also enjoy many kinds of local snacks.

    Old Cultural street - The street, formerly a place for the assembly and entertainment of boatmen, was rebuilt into the present state in 1986. there are nearly one hundred shops selling various kinds of stationery, second-hand books, articles of folk customs, handicrafts of traditional characteristics of Tianjin, and so on.

    Hot Spring Resort at Baodi  - The Regal Riviera Hot Spring Resort Tianjin (Jingjin Xincheng Dijing Wenquan Dujiacun) is a leisure and holiday resort located in Baodi, Tianjin, in Northern Chinas most active geothermal region. 

     

    Day 7 Baodi/ Beijing
